About me

Houcem Bellakoud, a native of Tunisia, embarked on a journey that would redefine his artistic vision. In 2013, driven by love, he found himself drawn to the Netherlands, where he unexpectedly fell in love again – this time, with the vibrant city of Rotterdam and its diverse inhabitants. Inspired by the city's multicultural tapestry, Houcem embraced photography and visual art as means of expression.

His documentary work is a testament to his commitment to empowering cultures and creating inclusive spaces. Through projects like 'Unity in Diversity', he seeks to shed light on issues of identity, diversity, and social justice, acknowledging their growing importance in visual representation.

Houcem's passion for photography lies in his desire to capture the essence of diverse communities and tell their stories. From urban streets teeming with life to tranquil village landscapes, each scene presents a canvas for exploration. He approaches each moment with versatility and a heart for humanity, striving to encapsulate not just the image, but the emotions and narratives it embodies.

For Houcem, photography transcends mere profession; it's a calling to amplify the voices of those often unheard and to challenge societal norms. Through his lens, he aims to empower communities, challenge stereotypes, and foster understanding across cultures.

Every picture Houcem captures is a gateway to a story waiting to be told – a reminder of the infinite possibilities of storytelling. It's his privilege and honor to share these stories with the world, bridging divides and celebrating the richness of human experience.
